Born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1944, Liz became a dog crazy teenager who decided quite early on in life that England was the country she wanted to live in. She worked as a kennel girl in idyllic Kent the summer of 1963 looking after a small kennel of Pembroke Corgis, Beagles and Bassets. By then she had well and truly got the bug. She returned to Sweden for a few years to finish her education and then worked to build up a little nest egg until 1967 when she set sail for England.
Liz married Joe Cartledge in 1971. Joe was a true Terrier man who had retired from professional handling after winning BIS at Crufts in 1961 with an Airedale, CH Riverina Tweedsbairn, to take up judging. This he did at the same time building up a successful boarding (and later quarantine) kennel, pet shop and export business. Having always had Corgis, Liz felt that being married to a Terrier man, she should have a Terrier breed. They were, in fact, given a Norfolk bitch puppy as a wedding present, CH Nanfan Wedding Present, the foundation of a successful Norfolk Terrier kennel, housing 6 English champions. Sadly Joe died of cancer in 1982 but Liz has continued with the business and now runs it with their two sons plus Jane Miller of "Brio" Scottish Terrier fame.
One of the UK's top all-rounders, over the years Liz has totted up a fair few "plum" judging appointments - four groups and BIS at Crufts, Sydney Royal, to name just a few. She is passed for 87 breeds across the 7 Groups (UK), all Groups except Gundogs plus Best In Show at championship show level. Liz is heavily involved with various canine administrations — member of Crufts and Judges sub-committees (KC) LKA & Windsor show committees, honorable secretary of the Junior Handling Association, promoting and encouraging children and young people towards sound dog ownership and developing their handling skills.

Leonie commenced exhibiting and breeding English Setters in 1976 under the Genteel prefix. In the 1980's she became involved in the obedience field with Border Collie's titling a number of dogs.
Under the Dlarah prefix Leonie has bred a number of Swedish Vallhund Champions, class in group, group 1 & 2 winners, the first Australian male and female Grand Champions and Best in Show all breeds winner. In addition to showing Leonie is an accomplished author having self published and written 'The Swedish Vallhund (Vastgotaspets): A Legacy of the Vikings which has sold throughout the world.  She also has the distinction of being the first Swedish Vallhund breeder in Australia to export the breed back to Scandinavia with Dlarah dogs being campaigned in Finland, Sweden, UK, Canada, USA and NZ.  Dlarah dogs have gained Australian, New Zealand, Swedish, Finnish, Latvia, Estonian, Norwegian, Nordic and International championships. Leonie recently had the honour of attending the World Dog Show in Stockholm, Sweden 2008 and judging the Finnish Swedish Vallhund Specialty in Helsinki.
Club administration includes English Setter Club NSW; founder, holder of all executive positions and life member.  Dogs NSW; Public relations committee member and chairperson, organisation of Sydney Pet and Animal Expo dog section 5 years, Chairperson Dogs NSW Disability Working Party 1 year, Swedish Vallhund Breed lecturer Judges Training Scheme Dogs NSW for past 14 years. Current involvement includes; the World Wide Swedish Vallhund database and development of the World Wide Swedish Vallhund Alliance, executive of Western Region Working Dog Club NSW and member Working Dog Club NSW.
Leonie enjoys the opportunity to travel, met and communicating with dog enthusiasts throughout the world, having travelled to NZ, USA, Canada, UK, Slovakia,Thailand, Singapore Austria, Finland and Sweden

I have been in the Swedish Vallhunds since 1978, and a championship show judge for the breed. At open show level  I have judged German Shepherd Dogs, Boxer's and any variety not separately classified as well as having judged utility and pastoral groups in Ireland. I am chairlady of the Swedish Vallhund Society in the U.K. also breed survey subcommittee secretary and breed historian. Has judged working and pastoral breeds since the 1980's

My first breed was Rottweiler’s, back in 1984, being successful in showing , obedience and owned the first
Pro Active Therapy  Bitch in Scotland. Saw Swedish Vallhunds at a show researched the breed and decided
to have one , went on to  breed the Top Winning Bitch of all time to date in the UK, and also the Top Winning Dog of all time to date. Have bred only 5 litters of which 14  have become Champions World Wide, Have won Top Stud,/ Brood Breeder /  Top Sire and Top Puppy on numerous occasions,  have bred the BOB Winner at Crufts 3 times and top /dog bitch at Crufts 2 times, also top puppy.  Have won BOB at Crufts and Best Male and Best Puppy.
I am a qualified judge under FCI  in all GROUP 2 BREEDS, including the GROUP,  Progressing at the
moment through GROUP 5, will be qualified in all GROUP 5 breeds and the GROUP next year. Will then be moving into GROUP 1, Qualified to judge Swedish Vallhunds anywhere in the world, award CCs in Swedish Vallhunds in UK, judging the Swedish Vallhund breed Championship Show in Sweden  in 2010,  and have my first CC appointment for Rottweiler’s CCs in 2012.. At the moment, I am progressing in Welsh Corgis Pembroke and Cardigan to CC level in the UK.

Breed Specialist in Swedish Vallhunds with a specific interest in all other pastoral and spitz breeds. I have attended various breed seminars and completed the KC confirmation and movement exam. I am on the "C list" for Swedish Vallhunds and Finnish Lapphunds and have judged Vallhunds, Border Collies, Rough Collies and Shetland Sheepdogs. I have been showing for several years and as well as my own Vallhunds I have handled other breeds including Pulik, Bichons and German Spitz. I have bred only two litters but from my first exported a dog back to Sweden where he got his title. I also own two dogs with their KC stud book numbers. I am willing to travel for judging appointments.

Anita has owned dogs since 1972, and was a former swim instructor and Pub owner. She was first licensed to judge at CC shows in 1990 (in England) and her breeds are Swedish Vallhund's and Rottweiller's. Three of her best known dogs are GB Ch Svedala The Scandinavian (Rottweiler), GB Ch Alec-Guiness av Svedala, and Int Nord Ch Svedala Ludwig Lodjur (Västgötaspets). Anita was first licensed to judge at CC shows in 1990 (in England) and in 1995 in Sweden. She has judged in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, England, Italy, Russia, Estonia, USA, and Australia. She has the honour of judging Swedish Vallhund´s at Crufts in 2006.
